What "Know Your Customer" means

Know Your Customer (KYC) is the standard process by which a financial service confirms that a client is a real, identifiable person, and that the information provided at registration is accurate.

In practice, KYC at Branson Capital means we collect and confirm a small set of basic facts about you: your full legal name, your date of birth, your country of residence, your contact details and the payment method you intend to use. We compare the details you typed into the sign-up form with the details shown on the documents you upload.

What we do not do

We never request your internet banking credentials, complete card PIN, or device access permissions. Our staff will never ask for any of these. Any communication requesting them is fraudulent and should be reported via the abuse reporting system.

Definition

What "anti-money laundering" means

Anti-money laundering (AML) is the set of internal controls a financial service uses to prevent its platform from being used to move the proceeds of crime, to finance illegal activity, or to disguise the true origin of funds.

AML protocols extend beyond simple identity verification. They encompass account risk assessment, sanctions list checks, identification of politically-exposed persons, monitoring of abnormal payment sources, documentation retention, internal flagging of questionable conduct and, pursuant to relevant regulations, notification to the appropriate regulatory body.

Where AML rules and a client instruction conflict, the AML rules take priority. That can mean a delayed transaction, a request for additional documents, or a restricted account until the matter is resolved.

Rationale

Why verification is required

  1. 01

    Legal obligation

Services that hold or transmit client funds are generally required to identify their clients before providing the service. This is not optional and applies to every account without exception.

  2. 02

    Protecting your money

Account verification links it to a single identifiable person. This significantly reduces the risk of unauthorized takeover, and ensures funds can only be returned to a payment source confirmed as yours.

  3. 03

    Keeping the platform clean

Screening removes sanctioned entities and opaque corporate structures from the platform, which safeguards all other users.

  4. 04

    Faster payouts later

An account that has completed upfront verification avoids additional review during withdrawal processing, avoiding delays when they matter most.

Documents

Which documents are accepted

We may request up to three types of documentation. Submissions must be colour photographs or PDF scans, completely visible, unaltered, showing all four edges and clearly readable text.

1. Identity document

A government-issued document that shows your photograph, full name, date of birth, document number and expiry date. Commonly accepted types are a passport, a national identity card, or a driving licence where it is issued as a photographic identity document. The document must be valid and not expired.

2. Proof of address

A recent document, usually issued within the last few months, showing your name and your residential address as it appears on your account. Typical examples are a utility statement, a bank or card statement, a local tax or municipal notice, or an official letter from a public authority. Post-office boxes and addresses belonging to someone else are not accepted.

3. Proof of payment method

Documentation confirming ownership of your funding source. For credit or debit cards, this typically means a photo showing your name, initial six digits and final four digits and expiration date, with middle digits and CVV obscured. For bank transfers, a document in your name containing your account number. For digital payment accounts, an account settings screenshot displaying your name and account identifier.

Formats and file size

Upload specifications, supported formats and any supplementary document requirements are displayed in your account's verification section. Files in languages differing from your account's primary language may need certified translation; the compliance department will advise if necessary.

Process

The verification steps

  1. 01

    Register

Create the account with your real legal name, date of birth, country of residence, email and phone number. Details that do not match your documents are the most common cause of delay.

  2. 02

    Confirm contact details

Authenticate your email address and, if applicable, your phone number. This validates that these contact methods are genuinely yours.

  3. 03

    Upload your identity document

Submit pages containing your photo and identifying information. Certain verifications involve a brief identity confirmation or video selfie to establish the document holder's legitimacy.

  4. 04

    Upload proof of address

Upload a recent qualifying document in your name at the address on file.

  5. 05

    Confirm the payment method

Supply documentation for both the payment source and withdrawal destination.

  6. 06

    Screening and review

Our compliance team reviews the file, runs the required sanctions and risk screening, and either approves the account or asks for a correction.

  7. 07

    Confirmation

You receive a notification once the account status changes. The current status is always visible in the verification area of your account.

Timing

How long a check takes

Most complete submissions are reviewed within a few hours to a couple of business days. Files that need a second look, a translation or an additional document can take longer.

Review times depend on volume, on the quality of the uploads and on whether any additional screening is triggered. The processing window that applies to your account, together with the current status of each document, is shown in your account area - that published figure is the one to rely on, not any figure quoted elsewhere.

  • Properly formatted, comprehensive, unaltered submissions get processed most quickly.
  • Requests submitted outside business hours are queued for the next working day.
  • Enhanced review, where required, adds time and is communicated to you.
Troubleshooting

Why a check can be rejected

A denial typically stems from document issues, not a reflection on your character. Frequently, resubmission results in acceptance on the next review.

ReasonHow to fix it
Image blurred, cropped or glare-coveredRe-shoot in daylight, flat on a dark surface, all four corners visible.
Document expiredUpload a currently valid document.
Name or date of birth does not match the accountCorrect the account details, or explain a legal name change with supporting proof.
Proof of address too old or not in your nameSupply a current, acceptable document bearing your address that was issued to you.
Payment method belongs to a third partyUtilize a payment method registered under your name exclusively - payments via third parties are prohibited.
File edited, cropped to hide data, or a screenshot of a screenSubmit an unmodified original image or PDF.
Residence in an excluded jurisdictionThe account cannot be established; consult our regulatory information for further details.

Should the determination remain unclear, reach out to support requesting clarification. We will provide details where legally permitted.

Ongoing controls

Ongoing transaction monitoring

Verification is not a one-time event. Accounts and transactions are monitored for as long as the relationship lasts.

What is monitored

Funding and withdrawal patterns, changes of payment instrument, changes of country or contact details, activity that does not match the profile you gave at sign-up, and any activity flagged by our screening tools.

What can happen as a result

  • A demand for updated documentation or clarification regarding fund origins.
  • A temporary hold on a specific transaction while it is reviewed.
  • Adjustment of the limits published in your account.
  • Account suspension or termination where mandated by regulation.

Records

Identification data and transaction records are retained for the period required by applicable law after the relationship ends, and are handled in line with our Privacy Policy. In certain circumstances the law prevents us from telling a client that a report has been made.

Your side

Your obligations

  • Furnish truthful, current and thorough information, maintaining its accuracy continuously.
  • Use only your own funds and your own payment instruments - never someone else's.
  • Keep one account only, and keep your credentials private.
  • Respond to document requests within the timeframe stated in the request.
  • Tell us promptly if you change country of residence, legal name or payment method.
  • Notify us promptly of any suspected unauthorized attempts to access your account.

Submitting falsified or altered documents is a serious matter. It leads to closure of the account and, where applicable law requires, notification of the competent authority.

Support

Where to ask questions

If anything on this page is unclear, or you want to know the exact status of your own verification, ask us before uploading again.

Who reviews my documents?

A trained compliance reviewer. Files are stored on restricted systems, and access is limited to staff who need it for the check.

Can I start before I am verified?

Registration and account exploration are available immediately, though funding, trading and money transfers are contingent upon your account's displayed verification status.

Do I have to verify again later?

Possibly. Documents expire, addresses change and periodic refresh is a normal part of AML compliance. We will contact you if a refresh is needed.

How do I contact the compliance team?

Use the contact route on our contact page and include "KYC" or "verification" along with your registered account email. Avoid transmitting document images through unencrypted methods - instead, attach them through your account dashboard.

Licenses & regulatory information

Before you upload

Get verified once, cleanly

Ninety per cent of delays come from three things: a blurred photo, an out-of-date address document, and a payment method in someone else's name. Fix those and most checks pass first time.

Need help with a document?

Our support staff can identify the specific submission that was denied and provide the reason.

  • Check the verification area of your account first.
  • Then contact support with your registered email address.
